Vishansar Lake Sonmarg : is a oligotrophic alpine lake formed at hieght of 3700 meters and produce trout fishes it is home of rare migrant birds coming in summer a cross the Siberia. Vishansar Lake Trek Itinerary
The Vishansar lake trek is High altitude alpine trek , The itinerary is for 4 days. To enjoy the trek in full rhythm need a day for acclimatization in Sonamarg .
Day 1 Srinagar to Nichnai 3500 Meters Altitude ( 6 hours trek)
Srinagar to Sonamarg 82 km: The travel starts early morning by jeep up to Sonamarg. and start trekking up to Nichnai valley via Table top Shukderan. The Trek begins with tall pine tress and meadows up to Sind river branch coming from Nichnai. from Shukdar the trail follows the river up to nichnai campsite.
Day 2 Nichinaya to vishansar lake 4000 meters (7 hours trek)
Vishansar Campsite : The well marked trail begins with stream crossing up to Vishansar pass. On the pass there are two routes up to Vishansar campsite. The normal route goes straight up to campsite, The other route goes via shrouded lake on the top. from the top it easy descending and encounters with varieties of wild flowers and Himalayan brown marmots.
Day 3 Vishansar to Krishansar lake
Krishansar Lakes: The Day starts with a sight seen around Vishansar lake. From Vishansar it is one hour Ascend up to Krishansar Lake , sight seen in krishansar lake or go up to gadsar pass. Trout fishing is also avaible here and over night at vishansar.
Day 4 vishansar to sonamarg (9 Hours Trek)
The Trek Starts early morning from Vishansar ascending Vishansar Pass 3 hours. from pass it is descending all along to sonamarg. and Back to Srinagar..
Stages: Srinagar to Nichnai , Nichnaia to Vishansar lakes ,Vishansar to Sonamarg ,Srinagar.
